"Is It Possible To Completely Reverse Hair Loss With FUE Hair Transplant?"

FUE hair transplant works by utilizing stronger DHT-resistant follicles found on the sides and back of the head, to “make up” for weak follicles that are sensitive to DHT.

This form of transplantation uses your own reservoir of hairs to cover up patches of bald or thinning hair. In essence, you’ll be strategically rearranging your own hair, such that the strong ones go up top and to the front.

Strong follicles are mostly found across the back of your scalp and there is typically about 30-50 thousand of them. Only about 15% or less is used to cover up the balding areas.

As you age, more follicles at the front and top of your head will fall off, hence it’s crucial that, if you’re interested in fixing your hairline, that you do it quickly.

Almost everyone who follow the recommended care guidelines, reports that the new hair follicles lasts for years.

Can Hair Transplantation Slow Down Excessive Hair Fall?

There are several reasons for hair loss, both permanent and temporary, around the temples, and different treatments can help you regain lost hair. Some suffer from hair loss due to aging, while others face a more chronic condition. Regardless of the reason, hair transplant surgery has become a popular cosmetic procedure.

Follicular unit extraction (FUE) is the preferred method for hair transplant. It avoids the need for a surgical strip and is not associated with the risks of scar formation. With this technique, the donor area remains on the scalp, and the transplanted hair grows in.

Is FUE hair transplant safe?

The first question you might have is, “Is FUE hair transplant safe?” The short answer is “yes” – it is a safe procedure, but only if the patient is healthy. This procedure redistributes hair evenly and helps reduce baldness. It is considered painless because individual hair units are removed.

As a result, the scalp has no linear scars after the procedure. You may experience small wounds and scabies around the surgical site, but they will disappear quickly.

The hair transplant is a quick process. The real results may be visible three to four months later.

After the procedure, you should expect a few days of recovery time. Your scalp will be red and swollen, and you should avoid shampooing and comb for the first three days. It would be best to refrain from wearing clothing over your head for a few weeks. It may also be necessary to use gentle shampoos for a few days after the procedure to reduce swelling.

How does FUE prevent hair fall?

While there is no major study that lists the success rates of hair transplant procedures, there are several smaller studies that detail the effectiveness of various procedures. In one such study, most participants of FUE with scalp hair were satisfied with their results 2.9 years later. The mean satisfaction level of 79 participants was 8.3.

FUE has some major advantages over FUT. First, it is a gentler procedure. Second, it allows the treating physician to harvest individual follicles from the donor area. Compared to FUT, FUE does not scar the surrounding tissue. Moreover, it limits the number of grafts.

After the procedure, the patient must follow post-procedure instructions carefully. It is important to avoid strenuous activity for the first few days. Also, the transplanted hair follicles are highly sensitive. Therefore, it is important not to touch the scalp except for washing hair.
Moreover, patients should protect their scalps from blows and bumps.

Afterward, they can begin to exercise lightly and return to regular physical activities. The healing process should take approximately 15 days. After this time, they can return to work and resume normal activities. They may also use a sauna or solarium to help them recover from the procedure.
Why is my hair still shedding after an FUE hair transplant?

The technique used in FUE hair transplant does not destroy existing hair follicles, although it can temporarily shock the area where the transplanted hair will be placed. This changes the circulation in the area, which may cause existing hair follicles to shed off prematurely.
This happens because hair is cyclical. The treatment will not damage the existing hair, but the grafts will be “shocked” for two to three weeks after the transplant. It is not the same as a hair fall. This is because the new hair follicles are not yet supplied with nutrients.

Is FUE hair transplant permanent?

FUE hair transplant is usually a permanent solution to hair loss. But like any other surgical procedure, this procedure should be performed under the right conditions.

The procedure restores hair by regrowing the hairline one graft at a time. The clinician will carefully arrange the new growth in patterns that mimic the old hairline. The procedure is safe and minimally invasive. Patients with very little hair at the donor site should discuss FUE with their surgeons.
After the surgery, the area will look like a closed shave. Small crusts may be where the transplanted hair was placed, but these will fall out within a week.

The surgery is performed using local anesthesia. Patients should avoid shaving or using alcohol for at least two weeks before the procedure.
Hair transplants using FUE are considered the gold standard for hair restoration.

FUE involves harvesting individual follicles from a safe donor area. This area is located on the back of the head, a few inches above the nape of the neck.

Aftercare instructions for FUE hair transplant: A few days following your FUE hair transplant, you may experience swelling around your eyes and forehead. This swelling will usually last no more than two to five days and can be easily treated by applying a cold compress to the affected area.

However, the donor and recipient areas should not be touched until the swelling stops. Swelling is usually mild and should not cause you to take any medication. If you are concerned about the swelling, you can always consult your doctor for further instructions.
The area you are having transplanted should be kept out of the sun for several weeks after the procedure. This is because exposure to sunlight may damage the new hair grafts.

Therefore, you should apply sunscreen before you go outside. If necessary, wear a hat to protect the transplanted area from the sun.
Another important daily routine is washing your hair. You should also apply moisturizer to the affected area and leave it on for 15-30 minutes. After this, you should apply shampoo and lather it properly. Afterward, you should rinse off the shampoo and pat dry with a soft cloth.
